A&W Grocery & Restaurant, 215 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre: During a routine check, they found issues. Vegetables were slimy, raw animal foods were stored above ready-to-eat foods, food was stored on the floor, pork belly was not kept at the correct temperature, and some food was expired. Also, they didn't have a proper temperature measuring device in the front display cooler, and the slicer had food residue. They were given instructions to fix these problems.

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has released recent restaurant inspection reports for Luzerne County. They note that the inspections provide a snapshot of the establishment's cleanliness on a specific day and time, and that any violations found during the inspection are often addressed immediately.
