A high court in the Federal Capital Territory has adjourned the hearing in the trial of former Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Godwin Emefiele, until June 24 at the prosecution’s request. The prosecution and defendant were both absent during the hearing. Although a representative from Emefiele’s team was present, the judge questioned the defendant's absence.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission will bring charges against the embattled former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, alongside his co-defendant, Henry Isioma Omole at the Ikeja State High Court in Lagos on Monday, April 8, 2024, for alleged misuse of office in allocating billions of United States dollars.
