Brendon Brobst had a huge game and MMI Prep's solid defense led them to win the PIAA Class A boys basketball playoffs. The Preppers rallied to defeat High Point Baptist 39-35 on Tuesday at Minersville High School.

Dallas managed to hold off a late rally from Villa Maria Academy in the final quarter, defeating the Hurricanes 43-41 in the first round of the PIAA Class 5A girls basketball playoffs on Saturday at Great Valley High School.

The times and locations have been set for the five PIAA state basketball games involving Wyoming Valley Conference teams.
