Enoch RCMP said the grass fire was near Range Road 264, between Township Road 523 and 524.
The theatre, nearly 100 years old, had a reputation as the first in Western Canada that was purpose-built for showing sound films.
According to Carol Henke, the Calgary Fire Department’s fire information officer, the apartment building is under construction.
