A video currently circulating on social media depicts a man using kegs to top up a water fountain at Ochanja roundabout in Onitsha, Anambra State
The fountain was reportedly built in March when Governor Charles Soludo converted it from a garbage dump site.
Sharing the video on X.com on Monday, Chude Nnamdi, tweeting as #chude_, wrote, “Maintaining a water fountain is very challenging, especially in a country with unreliable electricity.
“When Soludo set out to construct this Water Fountain at the Ochanja Roundabout, many of us raised this concern. Now, look at the subpar condition of the project after a few months of being unveiled.
“A simple flyover in that area would have been a better and more beneficial project for the people.”
Commenting, DonRitzy tweeting as #arinzeumez wrote, “Let's see if they turn the water fountain back into a garbage dump. I’m sure it will happen soon. Once that Ochanja flood dump refuse there and if the government doesn't promptly remove the refuse, trust my Onitsha Ochanja people.”
