A few hunters discovered a baby that was said to have been buried alive in Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State.
According to a resident known as Terna, the incident occurred in the Ashav Kusuv community in the local government area.
Terna mentioned that the hunters located the baby and rescued her from the forest where she had been buried.
A resident stated, “On Saturday, some hunters found a baby girl buried alive in a forest. The baby is currently being cared for in the Ashav Kusuv community.”
Iorkyaan Agber, the Chairman of the local government, confirmed the report and mentioned that the baby was found in a forest by hunters.
The Chairman added, “Some hunters did find a baby in the forest, but we are investigating to determine who left a baby in the forest and the reason for doing so.”
Efforts to reach the Benue Police Spokesperson, Catherine Anene, were unsuccessful as her phone was not answered.
