DALLAS — The Irem Shrine Circus is currently presenting Billy Martin’s Cole All Star Circus at the Irem Country Club in Dallas. The event started on Thursday and will continue through the weekend.
The showtimes are as follows: Friday at 7 p.m.; Saturday at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. & 7 p.m.; Sunday at 2 p.m. & 6 p.m. Doors open one hour before each show.
This marks the 73rd Irem Shrine Circus, which will be a smaller version held at a new location. However, organizers have assured that “the show will go on.”
John Richards, Irem Shrine Circus Chairman, mentioned that seven shows are scheduled, including the final day on May 12, which is Mother’s Day.
“Everyone performing has previously been a part of the Shrine Circus, so this is simply a smaller version,” Richard stated.
Richards also confirmed that all performers will be people – no animals will be involved.
Richards added that the circus will include aerial performances, unicyclists, and more, along with popular food items such as cotton candy, popcorn, hot dogs, beverages, pizza, and more.
Richards further mentioned that the funds raised from the circus will cover the administrative expenses of Irem uniformed units and vehicles. This enables the Irem Shrine to participate in fundraisers to support the mission of Shriners. He noted that a golf tournament scheduled for this summer will raise funds for transporting children to Shriners’ hospitals for treatment.
Richard expressed gratitude to the Irem Shriners, Bill Martins crew, and particularly the Kunkle Fire Department.
Parking is free.
The circus was relocated to the new venue this year due to renovations at the Kingston Armory. The circus hopes to return there next year.
