Former President Muhammadu Buhari said that the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, is a great chief who sets a good example and behaves like a true statesman.
Buhari praised Oba Adetona in a statement released by his spokesperson Garba Shehu on Thursday for the monarch’s 90th birthday.
Oba Adetona has been the nation’s longest-reigning traditional ruler since April 1960.
The former President praised Oba Adetona’s leadership style, stating that he demonstrates the proper conduct for a traditional leader and how to treat others, whether they are his subjects or not.
Buhari also highlighted Awujale’s respectable behavior towards others, as well as his humility and personal integrity, as qualities to be followed.
Buhari wished Oba Adetona a long life of service and good health.
