Actress Lisa Ann Walter, who portrayed maternal housekeeper Chessy in the 1998 movie “The Parent Trap,” stated that she cautioned Lindsay Lohan's mother, Dina, against allowing the 15-year-old to relocate to Los Angeles by herself.
Walter shared her thoughts with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live.” On Wednesday, Walter recalled telling Dina, “You can’t let her come out here. She needs supervision. I’ll watch her. Send her to me.”
However, Lohan did move to L.A. in 2004 and went on to star in “Mean Girls,” becoming one of the top stars and tabloid fixtures of the 2000s.
Walter also mentioned that Dina was not frequently present for Lindsay, who felt very responsible for the rest of her family.
“I used to stay on the phone with them quite often and speak with her mom in Long Island. The family was experiencing difficulties, and Lindsay felt very accountable. It was a lot,” Walter stated.
Walter added that Lindsay would often carry around younger children, acting like a small mother.
Walter also expressed that she was not surprised by Lohan's massive success after portraying twins in 'The Parent Trap.'
“That movie was incredibly successful, not only in the United States but worldwide, so she quickly became immersed in the world of Disney and her mom,” she commented, expressing her immense delight at Lohan's career resurgence with Netflix films like 'Irish Wish' and 'Falling for Christmas.' Lohan is also reuniting with Jamie Lee Curtis for a sequel to the 2003 comedy 'Freaky Friday.'
Walter informed Cohen, “I feel like a proud sort of mom when I think about it.”
