The Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Tunji Alausa, provided information about the location of President Bola Tinubu.
Alausa revealed that Tinubu is in good health and also uses the healthcare services in Nigeria.
During an interview on Channels Television on Tuesday, the minister shared this information.
“We have a President who is well, healthy, and guiding the country in the right direction. The President is receiving some of his care in Nigeria,” he stated.
Tinubu’s prolonged absence from the country following his attendance at the World Economic Forum in Saudi Arabia has sparked fresh concerns among Nigerians.
However, in response to these concerns, the minister clarified that the President’s absence was unrelated to his health.
He emphasized that the current administration is focused on improving the healthcare system for Nigerians.
He explained, “I want to emphasize that we are developing a healthcare system for Nigerians, not for the President. We have 220 million Nigerians, and that’s what Mr. President desires.”
Meanwhile, the Presidency announced on Tuesday that Tinubu is expected to return to the country on Wednesday.
The Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, Bayo Onanuga, revealed this in a post on his X handle on Tuesday.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accompanied by his aides, will return to Nigeria tomorrow from Europe,” Onanuga wrote.
On April 22, Tinubu departed from Abuja, the country’s capital, for the Netherlands on an official visit.
The presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, stated that the President was visiting The Netherlands at the invitation of Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
