Dino’s Pizza & Italian Restaurant, located in the Wyoming Valley Mall near the JC Penny entrance, is a beloved family-owned business now run by its second generation. They provide takeout and sit-down dining services, and have been a much-loved place for Italian food and pizza lovers at the mall.
After working at JC Penney for several important years while starting my career at the Times Leader, Dino’s was always the place I went to for a much-needed break or a quick and satisfying meal. Whether I was grabbing a bite during a busy 12-9 shift or enjoying tasty pizza, sandwiches, or pasta dishes, Dino’s always provided comfort and flavor.
Even now, more than 25 years later, as I sometimes walk through the mall, I can’t help but think back to the good old days and the great times shared at Dino’s. And when it's election nights at the Times Leader, where ordering food for the newsroom is a tradition, Dino’s is a reliable choice. Despite the many choices on the Visit Luzerne County Pizza Trail like Norm’s, Franco’s and Grotto, Dino’s also never fails to impress with its quick service and friendly staff.
The pizza slices at Dino’s are large, with a thin and crispy crust perfectly balanced with a 50/50 blend of sauce and cheese. Conversations overheard in the newsroom reflect feelings of rediscovery, with comments like, “I forgot how good Dino’s at the mall is!” And the online praise for their meatball sandwich further confirms Dino’s reputation as a go-to place for quality food.
Being open seven days a week, Dino’s welcomes mall-goers to take a break from shopping and enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner. They have been eagerly waiting for your return, ready to greet you with their signature warmth and flavorful dishes.
