The period from May 6th to May 10th is National Teacher Appreciation Week, which celebrates teachers nationwide. A local food chain is demonstrating its appreciation by offering complimentary breakfast to teachers.
The well-known Whataburger fast food chain aims to brighten every teacher's week by providing them with free breakfast, as confirmed by the chain itself.
Educators can receive a free Taquito, Breakfast on a Bun, or a Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit. Additionally, they have the opportunity to obtain a WhataTeacher Table Tent while supplies last.
Furthermore, 63 teachers will be chosen to receive a $1,000 grant for their school.
The grant is part of Whataburger’s Feeding Student Success initiative, which focuses on supporting students dealing with food insecurity and education by providing college resource rooms, scholarships, and community philanthropy. Donna Tuttle, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Whataburger, stated in a press release that “Teachers are true heroes. Many of us still remember our favorite teacher, and the impact they made on our lives. Whataburger’s free breakfast offer and WhataTeacher grants are just small ways we try to say thank you for their powerful work.” To receive the complimentary treats, teachers need to present their ID badge from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. The promotion is available “system-wide,” and for both dine-in and drive-thru.
Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Whataburger, Scott Hudler, mentioned, “Providing free breakfast during National Teacher Appreciation Week is just one small way we’re trying to make every school employee’s day a little brighter. Our hope is that the 63 grants being awarded will provide teachers with additional resources they need and show a bit of gratitude for their hard work and dedication all year.” said Other establishments and eateries are also offering special giveaways in honor of National Teacher Appreciation Week.
On May 7th, educators can receive a complimentary chicken biscuit or chicken sandwich at participating Chick-fil-A locations, as per the Association of Texas Professional Educators.
Teachers can also visit participating McAlister’s Deli locations and enjoy a free tea throughout the week, without having to make a purchase.
