The Nigeria Customs Service in Kebbi intercepted approximately 6,240 pieces of cap-sensitive dynamite explosives on the Yauri/Jega Road.
Iheanacho Ojike, the Area Comptroller of Customs, stated that the joint border patrol team comprising Customs, Army, Police, Immigration, and the Department of State Services intercepted the dynamites during an intelligence-based patrol along the Yauri/Jega Road.
On Thursday, Iheanacho handed over the explosives to DSS officials in Kebbi.
Iheanacho explained that a joint examination involving relevant customs and police units revealed that the suspected items contained 40 cartons and sacks totaling 6,240 pieces of cap-sensitive dynamite explosives (super power 90).
The Comptroller emphasized that the customs handed over the items to the DSS for continued investigation and in the spirit of inter-agency collaboration.
Anthony Oduwalu, Deputy Director of DSS, received the explosives from the customs comptroller on behalf of the State Director of DSS, praising the customs and pledging to sustain the interagency collaboration.
