Alan K. Stout, who is the executive director of Visit Luzerne County, spoke at the Millennium Circle at River Common in Wilkes-Barre and gave a great speech.
Stout stated that the 6th annual Rockin’ the River summer concert series will take place on July 12, 19, and 26, offering wonderful nights of music, food, and community spirit along the Susquehanna River.
The event typically draws crowds of 3,000 to 6,000 people for each show.
Stout explained that each show is a big production, but with the help of volunteers, partners, and sponsors, they are able to offer the shows to the community for free.
Will Beekman, the vice president of ASM Global, revealed the lineup:
• July 12 – The Unforgettable Fire: A Tribute to U2, featuring the opening act, The TRiBE.
• July 19 – Winslow: An Evening with The Eagles, with opening act, The Traveling Wilkes-Barreans.
• July 26 – Lanie Gardner, with opening act The Broke Pines.
Beekman highlighted the anticipation of seeing Lanie Gardner, who recently toured with the Jonas Brothers and has gained fame on the internet.
Stout emphasized the pride in presenting U2 and The Eagles for the first time while maintaining the tradition of featuring original music in the final show.
This year, Lanie Gardner, a social media sensation and emerging country artist, will headline the July 26 concert.
Stout expressed excitement about the talented local acts opening each show and is looking forward to the July events.
Michael DiMare, presenting sponsor and Interim Associate Vice President/Clinical Operations at Geisinger Northeast, encouraged everyone to attend the concert series.
DiMare stated that the concerts will be enjoyable for family and friends every Friday night.
