Mixed reactions continue to follow the price increase.
In response, a Netizen, @JamesAgwu_E, expressed that the recent DStv price change seems unfair. With TSTV no longer an option, it's time to consider alternatives like IPTV. The dominance of DStv is bad for consumers, especially because they refuse to offer pay-per-view. There is a need for more options with fair prices and better services.
Another Netizen, @Libero_ElKeke, mentioned having apps that provide channels like BeIn, Sky, and TNT for sports and entertainment, and expressed not wanting to give any money to DStv/GOtv. @JamesAgwu_E expressed interest in the app and indicated being finished with DStv.
@Titbeats1 said that since they started streaming live games and showing them on TV and Netflix, they have stopped subscribing to DStv.
@victoromondi144 simply commented that the prices were too high.
@NAIS_Igbo expressed the belief that the PayTv company is taking advantage of its customers due to lack of competition. They pointed out that when Airpeace started offering cheaper options, other airlines dropped their prices.
In his speech, @_chika_oi stated, “It’s disheartening to see DStv’s pricing change without clear reason. With few other options, considering IPTV seems hopeful. Consumers should get fair pricing and more options for good entertainment.”
@DONALDWHIT47270 attributed the constant price increase to the corruption in the Nigerian system. “I don’t blame them I blame the corrupt system of government we have,” he wrote.
@Debusy2024 commented, “The worst part is sometimes you hardly watch TV for a good one hour in a day due to electricity shortage and high cost of petrol yet they keep on increasing it.
