Following the successful release of “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” and “Beyonce: Renaissance,” AMC Theaters is expanding its film distribution team to make deals with music artists for concert films in theaters.
As part of this expansion, the company has hired Stephanie Terifay as the new vice president of Distribution. She will work on engaging the music industry for future projects and tailoring distribution and marketing plans.
Terifay previously worked at Fandango, leading the marketing team and working with Hollywood studios, independent distributors, exhibitors, and brand partners.
AMC has also promoted Kevin Arnold to vice president of Programming Promotions & Partnerships, where he will handle promotional strategies. Both Arnold and Terifay will report to Nikkole Denson-Randolph, SVP of Content Strategy and Inclusive Programming.
“The success of AMC Theatres Distribution last Fall created a new business, and we are excited to have Stephanie Terifay and Kevin Arnold join the team,” said Elizabeth Frank, chief content officer.
AMC surprised the industry last September by partnering with indie distributor Variance Entertainment to release Swift’s concert film “The Eras Tour” in theaters without a major Hollywood studio.
In December, Beyonce’s concert film “Renaissance” earned $43.9 million worldwide, ranking among the Top 10 highest grossing concert films.
