Prophet Samuel Abidoye, the late Chairman and Spiritual Leader of Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, will be laid to rest on Saturday, April 27.
This information was revealed in a statement signed by Remi Awode, the head of the burial committee, on Thursday.
Prophet Abidoye passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the age of 103 years.
As per Awode, there will be a week-long burial ceremony at the Galilee Land, International Headquarters of the Church in Orile-Igbon, Oyo State. The event will involve members of C&S Movement Worldwide and various dignitaries.
The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Daniel Okoh, is also expected to attend the burial.
The sequence of events will commence on Monday, April 22, 2024, with a Service of Songs at the Galilee Church Auditorium, organized by Youths, Women Fellowship, and Children Ministry, under the theme: ‘The Place.’
On Tuesday, April 23, there will be a second Service of Songs and Tributes by the Councils of Pastors, Prophets, Evangelists, Teachers, and Model Churches.
“On Wednesday, April 24, there will be Sports and Night of Tributes including football and handball by students of C&S College, Ilorin, Kwara State, as well as Tributes by various representatives and church committees.”
The late cleric’s body will leave the mortuary on Thursday for Omu-Aran, Kwara State, for a lying in state service at Ile Nla, Omu-Aran and GSS Field, Omu-Aran, followed by its return to Galilee Land on the same day.
Friday's program will feature Christian wake service and Praise Night at Galilee Land, as well as Night of Tributes by different church committees and family members.
“The remains of Baba Aladura, Prophet Abidoye, will be laid to rest at his Mausoleum in Galilee Land, on Saturday, April 27, 2024, after a burial service at the Galilee Church Auditorium led by Most Rev. Daniel Okoh, President of CAN. The entertainment of guests will follow immediately at the Galilee Land Primary & Secondary School Playing Ground,” the statement added.
