Kirsten Dunst’s children seem like they are very critical.
The actress from “Civil War” and Oscar nominee for “Power of the Dog” shared in an interview with SiriusXM’s Jess Cagle that her youngest son, James, enjoys watching “Spider-Man” because of the character, not because she is in it.
She mentioned that her three-year-old son with her husband and actor Jesse Plemons doesn’t recognize her in the movie and is only interested in Spider-Man.
However, this doesn't stop the young boy from repeatedly watching the 2002 Sony Pictures release from Sam Raimi, especially the wrestling scene.
“James likes ‘Spider-Man,’ but he just really cares about the wrestling scene. I’ve had to rewind that scene a bunch because he loves to wrestle,” Dunst said.
Cagle then joked that it sounded like James might be itching for a Raimi follow-up to his “Spider-Man” trilogy starring Tobey Maguire.
Dunst then joked that her three-year-old wouldn't know who Sam Raimi is, adding that he doesn’t read Deadline.
The actress then revealed that her elder son used to love “Jumanji,” but his interest has waned.
“Now he’s over it. He liked ‘Jumanji’ while I was making ‘Civil War,’ and now he’s over it,” she said.
Asked if either of her children have seen “Civil War,” her new dystopian military drama with filmmaker Alex Garland, or Jane Campion’s Oscar-winning “Power of the Dog,” Dunst laughed.
“My children? I’d get in trouble by like Child Protective Services, I think,” she joked.
