After a winter of uncertain and unpredictable weather, most people in Manitoba will probably be happy to hear that the temperatures in the second week of April are much higher than usual.
According to Scott Kehler of Weatherlogics, the normal high at this time is 9 C. However, all the predicted highs for the next week will be even higher, including 22 C on Saturday and 20 C on Sunday.
However, it's not going to keep getting warmer. Temperatures will go back to the usual level or maybe a bit lower before we have the much-needed warmth again.
“We do see a weak cold front coming through. That will change the wind direction to the northwest and bring slightly cooler weather for Thursday, possibly a small chance of showers later tomorrow and Thursday as well,” Kehler told 680 CJOB.
“We're not expecting heavy rain — there might be a millimeter or two here and there, and then it looks like it will warm up again as we go into the weekend.”
However, Kehler said that people in Manitoba have nothing to complain about, as not everyone in western Canada has been as lucky.
“I like to joke that in Alberta, winter's never over, it's just on pause — Calgary had its second-snowiest March on record, and they've had even more this April, so unfortunately for them, winter isn't quite over.”
