If you’re curious if there is a Guinness World Record for the “biggest gathering of people dressed as the sun”, the answer is yes, and it now belongs to Niagara Falls, Ont.
On the same day as a solar eclipse passed through Niagara Falls, the city states 309 people wearing red ponchos with yellow suns over their chests gathered on a boat in front of the famous falls along with an official judge to set the new record.
A representative for Guinness World Records confirmed the city as the new record-holder.
In a news release, the city mentions taking the title from Beijing-based China Life Insurance Company Limited, which achieved the record with 287 participants in 2020.
Niagara is familiar with Guinness World Records.
The “fastest marathon flipping a pancake” record belongs to a U.S. man who finished the Casino Niagara International Marathon in Canada, and a waterpark there holds the record for “most people howling simultaneously”.
