Approximately 70 military helicopters are scheduled to fly through AVP’s airspace from Saturday through Monday, as announced by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport on Friday in a Facebook post.
According to the post:
AVP officials were notified that the helicopters will depart from the Rome, N.Y., area in small groups and pass through AVP’s airspace en route to their final destination in the Philadelphia area. The specific times are uncertain and could vary each day.
The public is advised that this is solely a training exercise and there is no cause for concern.
