Two passengers died in a single accident near Ikire, Osun State, at Balogun Village on Friday.
The bus was reportedly traveling from Ekiti State to Lagos.
The dead passengers were confirmed to have passed away at the scene, but Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and Federal Road Safety Corps quickly responded to the crash.
Kehinde Adeleke, the NSCDC spokesperson in Osun State, verified the accident.
Adeleke stated, “Today, April 5, 2024, around 1336hrs, one Oma bus from Ekiti going to Lagos had a lone accident around Balogun village which claimed two lives instantly.”
She also mentioned that the injured individuals were transported to a private hospital in Apomu for treatment.
Adeleke also relayed that Michael Adaralewa, the Osun NSCDC Commandant, urged drivers, especially motorists, to always follow traffic rules and regulations in order to prevent loss of lives and property.
“He also said they should avoid excessive-speeding and not drink alcohol while driving,” he added.
