The Federal High Court in Lagos found controversial cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, guilty of misusing the Naira.
Justice Abimbola Awogboro convicted him after examining the details of the case.
During his allocutus, Bobrisky informed the court that he was unaware of the law regarding Naira misuse.
He mentioned being a social media influencer with over five million followers.
The judge then informed him that lack of awareness of the law was not a valid excuse.
He responded, “I understand, Your Honor. Your Honor, I hope you can give me an opportunity to utilize my platform to educate my followers about spraying money.
“I will create a video on my page to educate people about spraying money.
I will not repeat this mistake. I regret my actions.”
Earlier, Bobrisky was charged with four counts of Naira misuse by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The cross-dresser, who calls himself the “Mummy of Lagos”, admitted guilt to the charges.
