Some criminals on Friday attacked Agojeju-Odo, a community in Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The armed men were reported to have shot community members and set houses on fire, as per Daily Post.
However, in a phone conversation with the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya confirmed the attack to our correspondent, and mentioned that the state Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha, has sent tactical teams to the area.
“Yes, there was an attack in the village in Omala. The CP has deployed the enforcement team along with other security agencies.”
Aya stated that an investigation is underway to “find out the cause of the attack and to discover the perpetrators.”
