A woman who worked at the University of Ilesa in Osun State passed away on Wednesday after a container of cashew nuts being transported by a truck fell onto her car. Her name is currently unknown.
The incident occurred on the Ilesa/Ibodi Expressway, near the university’s entrance, causing concern as people tried to free the trapped woman from her car.
The event reportedly led to traffic congestion on the busy road as the vehicles involved in the accident blocked part of the expressway.

A university staff member, speaking anonymously to The PUNCH, mentioned, “The woman’s vehicle was caught under a container full of cashew nuts being transported by a truck.
“She had left campus after her day's work, and was driving towards town when the accident happened. She is feared to have passed away.”
The spokesperson for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Osun State, Kehinde Adeleke, confirmed the accident and stated that the deceased was found dead in her car.
According to her, “Our officials and other security agencies were present at the accident site. The driver of the car, a woman, passed away.”
