Paul Gourley has been named as the news director of 28/22 News in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton by WBRE 28 and WYOU 22 on Wednesday.
As part of his new position, Gourley will supervise the 28/22 news team and digital news platforms, which have received awards.
Gourley will start his new role right away and will be reporting to Andrew Wyatt, who is the Vice President and General Manager of WBRE-TV28.

Gourley, who is an Emmy-Award-winning producer, previously worked as a police officer before transitioning to journalism over 20 years ago. His experience includes serving as an executive producer at WAGA-TV/FOX 5 in Atlanta GA, and as the assistant news director at WJLA-TV/ABC 7 in the Washington D.C. Metro Area.
Gourley expressed his enthusiasm about joining the WBRE/WYOU family, pointing out the opportunity to lead a locally focused team during this crucial time for journalists across the country.
