The Winnipeg Jets' win over Los Angeles on Monday was a step in the right direction, but it didn't completely indicate that the team has moved past their recent problems.
With seven games left in the regular season and uncertainty still lingering in the Central Division, the Jets' response to their first win in seven games is intriguing to watch as the week progresses.
Before Monday’s game, head coach Rick Bowness was upfront about wanting more from the key players, stating, “We certainly need more from certain players.”
If those players were Kyle Connor, Mark Scheifele, Neal Pionk, and to some extent, Josh Morrissey, then the team heard the message loud and clear.
Connor and Morrissey both had multiple-point nights, Scheifele performed well in the faceoff circle and Pionk was back to his usual contributions in over 21 minutes of ice time.

It was definitely a positive sign, but it was just one moment. If Winnipeg wants to improve their playoff positioning and avoid entering the playoffs with a lackluster performance, they need to build on Monday’s result quickly.
This is why Thursday’s game against Calgary holds added importance, at least to maintain their current third-place standing in the division.
If they don't capitalize on Monday’s win, the celebration will be short-lived, and the Jets will once again be facing their recent issues.
