Durham Regional Police have charged the boyfriend of a woman who died as a result of a domestic violence call in Ajax occurrence last weekend.
Around 11:05 p.m. on Saturday, authorities discovered 45-year-old Jennifer Polak with evident signs of injury at a residence on Hillman Drive.
Although they attempted to save her, law enforcement reported that she was declared deceased at the location.
Law enforcement disclosed that 35-year-old Kyle Severin, known as the victim’s boyfriend, was taken into custody.
Severin is being charged with second-degree murder.

A statement from the Polak family mentions that Jenn was the loving mother of two young men.
“Jenn Polak was a kind, caring, beautiful person whose death has devastated everyone who knew her,” the statement read. “She brought sunshine into the lives of everyone she met.”
