There will be a significant change in the weather this week for Calgary and Rocky View County, with some snow anticipated.
According to a special weather warning from Environment Canada, a prolonged period of snow will occur following an unusually warm Tuesday.
The snow will start on Tuesday night in northern foothills and move south on Wednesday, eventually extending eastward towards the Saskatchewan border by Thursday.
Environment Canada stated that the snow will stop on Friday.
Areas along the foothills and mountain parks are expected to receive between ten and 30 cm of snow. East of Highway 2, around five to 10 cm of snow is expected.
