Soldiers of the Nigerian Army killed at least 11 terrorists in Zamafara and Katsina states in different operations.
A raid on the enclaves of terrorist leaders in the states resulted in the death of the terrorists.
In Zamafara, the hideout of a terrorist leader named Hassan Yantagwaye in the Tsafe Local Government Area was raided, leading to a gun battle and the death of two of his men.

The Nigerian Army troops deployed for Counter-Terrorism, Counter-Insurgency operations in Katsina and Zamfara states carried out coordinated operations, resulting in the elimination of a significant number of terrorists.
During an operation in Zamfara State on March 29, 2024, troops successfully raided the hideout of a notorious terrorists’ leader, Hassan Yantagwaye, in the Tsafe Local Government Area. Yantagwaye and his group have been responsible for kidnappings and acts of terrorism in some parts of the North-West Nigeria.
In the operation, troops defeated the terrorists in a gun battle, killing three of them and recovering a large cache of weapons and ammunition as well as destroying the terrorists’ camps.
According to the post, eight terrorists were killed in the operation conducted in Katsina.
The terrorists had military clothing and weapons.
In Katsina State, the brave troops on March 30, 2024, engaged in a fierce gun battle with terrorists in Shawu Kuka, Shinda, Tafki, Gidan Surajo, and Citakushi in Kabai I and Kabai II within Faskari Local Government Area.
The troops killed eight terrorists and found three locally-made guns, military clothing, and a large quantity of stolen grains,
The military captured armed fighters in Ebonyi and confiscated illegal drugs in Ogun State.
The military encountered armed Effium militias along Urban Effium in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State during night patrols on April 31, 2024. Troops overpowered the militias in a combat engagement and captured one of them.
They also found an AK-47 rifle and 11 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition. The suspect is currently under preliminary investigation.
On March 29, 2024, troops intercepted 441 wraps of substance suspected to be Cannabis Sativa at Molegede village in the Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The vigilant troops discovered the illegal substances being transported in a Mazda car, as the smugglers abandoned the vehicle upon seeing the troops. The vehicle and illegal products will be handed over to the appropriate agency after preliminary investigations.
