As Christians around the globe observe this year's Easter, Alex Ombugu, the Labour Party Chairman in Nasarawa State, is asking for prayers to address various challenges like insecurity and the recent difficulties faced by the citizens.
This information was shared in an Easter message signed by Ombugu and sent to journalists in Lafia, the state capital, on Sunday.
He urges Christians to use the time for serious thought and to show love to all citizens, particularly the less fortunate, as demonstrated by Jesus Christ.
Easter is a yearly festival celebrated by Christians on March 31st each year.
It signifies the resurrection of Christ and the forgiveness of sins, and is considered a time for families and the less fortunate to share and care for one another.
The LP chairman also explained that in order for Nigeria to achieve its objectives, it's necessary to put an end to the hostility, intolerance, and misunderstandings among religious and ethnic groups in the country.
He stated, “As Christians around the world observe the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, I encourage all Nigerians to forgive one another and show love to everyone as Christ did.
I also urge all citizens to use the Easter celebration as a time for sincere self-reflection and reconciliation.
We should pray for our dear state (Nasarawa) and our country Nigeria so that God will provide our leaders with the insight to address the insecurity and hardship affecting the nation.
“Jesus Christ taught humility, friendship, leadership, and organization with exemplary character. We should learn to embody Christ-like behavior in all our everyday activities wherever we find ourselves.”
