A man from Toronto is being accused of first-degree murder following a stabbing outside of an apartment building in North York on Friday, as per police.
Police stated that they answered a call about a person with a knife in the region of Weston Road and Sheppard Avenue West at about 7 a.m. March 29.
When the officers arrived, they discovered there had been a fight between two men in front of a residential building, during which one man was stabbed with a sharp-edged weapon.
The victim, identified on Saturday as 32-year-old Dimitri Smith of Toronto, was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries shortly thereafter.
The suspect, subsequently identified as 46-year-old Dean Joel Constance, was apprehended at the location, according to police.
Constance now faces charges of first-degree murder.
