A mother who has difficulty seeing, Agnes Forte, had her one-year-old daughter, Excel, go missing on November 28, 2023, in Akowonjo in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State. She has now given birth to a set of twins.
PUNCH Online discovered that Agnes had the newborn babies in the early hours of Wednesday.
The birth happened only four months after she raised concerns about Excel’s disappearance.
Excel was last seen with her step-sister, Joy.
Agnes, who talked to our reporter after the incident, said she was in the room when 13-year-old Joy and Excel were playing in the corridor of their apartment.
She also said she could no longer hear their voices after some time and attempts to find them have been unsuccessful.
In a conversation on Saturday, Agnes expressed gratitude for the safe delivery, while also expressing hope that her missing daughter would be found.
She mentioned, “I appreciate the safe delivery and the gift of a set of twins. I am also hopeful that my missing daughter will be found.”
The 32-year-old mother, however, expressed frustration over her inability to pay the bills accumulated after giving birth, and said she was still being held up at the hospital.
“I haven't been able to pay my hospital bills. That's why I've been here since Wednesday. My husband has been trying but is yet to gather the money. The hospital staff told us to get the money or they will ask us to sleep on the floor due to lack of bed space,” she explained.
