The Ogun State Police Command reported on Friday that its officers apprehended a 24-year-old man, Gadafi Bala, for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl in Ogijo within the Sagamu Local Government Area of the state.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, revealed this in a statement on Friday.
Odutola stated that Bala committed the offense on Thursday.
The statement mentioned, “A report was received from Ifesowapo Otitoloju CDA in Ilara, Ogijo that a 14-year-old female JSS1 student of Aderegun Community High School, Ogijo was raped by one Gadafi Bala ”m” aged 24 years old, on March 28, 2024.
“On receipt of the report, the Ogijo Divisional Police Officer visited the victim, provided an examination form for assessment, which yielded positive results.
“Upon confirmation of the result by a doctor at a government-owned hospital, Gadafi was promptly arrested.
“Preliminary investigation has begun, and the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for thorough investigation.
