The lawmaker for Ajeromi/Ifelodun Constituency in Lagos in the House of Representatives, Kalejaiye Paul, has advised Nigerians to wait, stay strong, and be positive with the hope of a better Nigeria.
The lawmaker mentioned that the government is paying attention to the desires of the people and creating policies that will benefit them.
As per a statement received on Thursday, Kalejaiye, who spoke during the Ramadan Lecture/Prayer organized for the people of Ajeromi/Ifelodun with the theme “Message of Hope,” urged Nigerians, both the leadership and followership, to consistently do the right thing, show love and unity, and be tolerant during Ramadan/Lent fasting and beyond.
He mentioned, “The government is responsively listening to the desires of the people, setting policy directions that will benefit the masses. Nigerians should be aware that 2024 will be a year of joy as importation of petroleum products will stop this year.”
While delivering the Ramadan Lecture, the Chief Imam, Ajegunle Central Mosque, Alhaji Shuaib Bamidele, suggested that everyone must work together with determination to do the right thing for true positive change to occur in the country.
Furthermore, the special guest, chairman of Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Kamal Bayewu, encouraged Nigerians to stay dedicated and hopeful in President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
There have been protests in some states against the current hardship, rising inflation and high cost of living following the removal of fuel subsidy and floating of the naira by the President Bola Tinubu-led administration.
As the economic hardship continues to persist in the country, many Nigerians have been flocking to palliative distribution centers set up by government officials and other stakeholders to ease the impact of the challenges.
