The RCMP in rural Beaverdell busted a secret lab used to make shatter, a strong extract from cannabis, this week.
The investigation into the lab began earlier this year, and on Wednesday the RCMP searched and ultimately dismantled the lab.
“Because the property was hazardous, the RCMP Federal Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response team and Forensic Identification Section were called in to help take apart the lab,” said Cpl. Alex Bérubé, the RCMP spokesperson in B.C.
The investigation is still ongoing, and police are still collecting evidence.
Shatter is a potent cannabis extract made by removing THC from the plant and creating a concentrate with up to 90% THC that users smoke or vape.
