As the long weekend approaches for many Winnipeg residents, several local businesses, public services, and attractions will be closed or operating with different hours because of the upcoming Good Friday and Easter holidays.
City services
- All civic offices will be shut down on Friday and Monday
- Regular recycling and garbage collection schedules are in place
- Winnipeg Transit will follow a Sunday schedule on Friday
- All Winnipeg Public Library branches will be closed on Friday and Sunday, but will operate with normal hours on Saturday
- On Monday, seven library branches will be open from 1-5 p.m.: Millennium, Bill and Helen Norrie, Henderson, Louis Riel, Pembina Trail, St. James-Assiniboia, and West Kildonan
- All city pools will be closed on Friday and Monday, except for Pan Am Pool (10 a.m.-2 p.m.), Margaret Grant (1-5 p.m), and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex (2-6 p.m.)
- All city fitness and leisure centers will be closed on Friday and Monday, except for Cindy Klassen (2-6 p.m.) and Pan Am (10 a.m.-2 p.m.)
Shopping Malls
- Polo Park will be open from 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. on Friday, and closed on Sunday
- St. Vital Centre will be open from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Friday and closed on Sunday
- Kildonan Place will be open from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Friday and closed on Sunday
- Garden City Shopping Centre will be closed on Friday and Sunday
- Grant Park will be closed on Friday and Sunday
- Outlet Collection Winnipeg will be open from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Friday and closed on Sunday
Attractions
- Assiniboine Park Zoo and The Leaf will maintain regular hours
- The Manitoba Museum will be open from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Friday and closed on Monday
- The Canadian Museum for Human Rights will be open from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Friday and Sunday, and closed on Monday
- Manitoba Children’s Museum will be open from 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sunday, and Monday
