The government of Kwara State has begun distributing bursary grants for the academic year 2023/2024 to at least 9,989 final-year students from the state who are studying at different colleges and universities across the nation.
A spokesperson from the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Mansurat Amuda-Kannike, stated that
the recipients were picked from all 16 local government areas of the state, and they attend various tertiary institutions in the country.
The bursary award of N10,000 per successful applicant, approved by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has commenced being disbursed.
The disbursement started on Wednesday, March 27, and will continue until completion. Payments are being made directly to the recipients' accounts to ensure transparency and accountability.
A few successful applicants have incorrect account details, and they will be contacted, stated Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. Mary Arinde.
It is emphasized by the commissioner that the bursary beneficiaries are Kwara students who have enrolled on the government's dedicated portal for this purpose.
