A 59-year-old piano teacher has been charged for allegedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl who was one of his music students, according to Edmonton police.
Police were informed about this on March 14.
The assaults are said to have occurred during piano lessons while the girl’s mother was in another part of the house. Edmonton Police Service said in a news release Wednesday.
On March 26, Cassius Alleyne, 59, was taken into custody and accused of sexual assault and sexual interference.
Authorities stated the accused may have been providing piano lessons to both children and adults for seven years, usually conducting them in the students' homes.
Investigators suspect there may be other victims and are urging them to come forward.

Alleyne was released with certain conditions, including not having contact with anyone under 16 years old and not going to public swimming areas, schools, daycares, playgrounds, youth shelters, or public libraries.
