The Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, requested the establishment of four new government departments from the state House of Assembly on Tuesday.
The letter, which was presented by the Speaker, Jibrin Ismail Falgore, during the Assembly session on Tuesday, stated that the goal of creating the new government departments is to improve the state's development and address its increasing requirements.
The four new government departments are Humanitarian Affairs, Power and Renewable Energy, Internal Security, and Solid Minerals.
The assembly also received other letters from the governor, including the approval for disbanding the Assembly commission, the names of new members, four Commissioner nominees, and members of the state executive council, as well as a replacement for a member of the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission.
Falgore then adjourned the meeting until April 2, 2024.
