Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson stated that Ronna McDaniel put the state’s election workers at risk by promoting Trump’s false claims.
McDaniel defended her involvement in Trump’s attempted overthrow on Meet The Press:
New NBC News hire Ronna McDaniel goes on Meet The Press and defends helping Trump with his coup, "I regret the fact that people are being threatened for doing their job in this country. I think it's wrong to say I want a simple audit and to have your family be threatened." pic.twitter.com/eytRmigRY7

McDaniel stated:
I feel bad that people are being threatened for doing their job in this country. I believe it’s unfair to request a simple audit and then have your family, daughter, and career threatened, and be accused of racism. Check the transcripts. And this is the one important thing: We can’t have one rule for Democratic election workers and another for Republicans.
Michigan Secretary of State Benson responded:
Hi @RonnaMcDaniel👋🏼 I also “feel bad that people are being threatened for doing their job.” For over 3 years, professional election workers have been threatened because of your and others’ lies. No amount of forgetfulness changes that reality.
Ronna McDaniel and the candidate she supported, who engaged in criminal activities, are a major reason why election workers were and still are being threatened.
For McDaniel to act as if it is only Democrats who are threatening election workers is almost delusional.
The reason election workers are being threatened is because Donald Trump falsely accused them in order to promote his fabricated stories of rigged and stolen elections.
NBC News provided Ronna McDaniel with the platform to spread these falsehoods and now public officials are using social media to correct the record, and stop the spread of misinformation.
