It’s not clear what will happen in the 2024 NFL Draft. New York Jets are seen as a great fit for Bo Nix, the former quarterback with a record from Oregon.
Bleacher Report’s Matt Holder shared a list of the best landing spots for top quarterbacks in the draft. He listed the Jets as the best fit for Nix, even though it's unexpected. Chicago Bearsis also seen as a logical fit for Caleb Williams by Holder.
Aaron Rodgers's uncertain future may make the Jets a good choice to consider Nix, even though they are not actively seeking a quarterback. Holder also highlighted the importance of having a reliable backup based on past experiences.
Having a successor in place for the future Hall of Fame quarterback could be a wise move for the Jets, regardless of whether Rodgers continues to play in 2024.
Bo Nix had a remarkable college career, despite facing challenges.
The 24-year-old quarterback made a name for himself as a top prospect in this year’s draft after a successful season with the Oregon Ducks.
Before joining Oregon, Nix was a highly sought-after dual-threat QB recruit in the high school class of 2019. He initially played for the Auburn Tigers, the team his father used to play for. Nix became their starting quarterback as a true freshman but struggled with consistency over three years, resulting in a 21-13 record for the Tigers. In 2022, Nix's transfer to Oregon brought about a positive change. Under Nix's leadership, the Ducks had a 22-5 record in the last two seasons. Nix achieved impressive stats, including 8,101 passing yards, 74 touchdowns, and only 10 interceptions. Additionally, Nix set an FBS record for 61 career starts and ranked near the top in passing yards and touchdowns. Given his extensive college experience, it's understandable why teams like the Jets would be interested in picking him in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Scouting Report on Bo Nix What sets Nix apart from other quarterbacks behind Drake Maye, Caleb Williams, and Jayden Daniels is his significant college experience. However, that's not the only factor that makes Nix an intriguing prospect. Nix possesses one of the better arms in this year’s draft class and has a quick throwing motion. He can accurately throw to receivers at all levels of the field and make big plays due to his legitimate athleticism.
Nevertheless, Oregon relied on a quick passing game with one-read throws, and there were instances where Nix would lower his eyes under pressure, instead of keeping them up to locate open receivers downfield.
Given his skill set, Nix should be able to adapt swiftly to the demands of being an NFL quarterback. Learning behind a star like Rodgers for a year or two could further prepare him to become a starter in the future.

That being said, Oregon didn’t ask too much of Nix as a post-snap processor, relying on a quick passing game that included plenty of one-read throws. There were also multiple instances of Nix dropping his eyes when under duress instead of keeping them up to find open receivers downfield.
Given his skill set, Nix should be able to quickly acclimate to the demands of being an NFL quarterback, and learning behind a star like Rodgers for a year or two could help him prepare even more to be a starter down the road.
