Barrett Made Matters Worse for Jets Fans
Not only did Barrett not sign with the Jets, but he also made negative remarks about them during the interview.
“I was excited about the idea of going to New York, but the Dolphins are a more established team. They are more proven at this point and they have some talented players in the pass rush group. So I was looking forward to teaming up with those players, and the absence of state tax helps a lot,” Barrett explained to Zach Gelb.
It's clear that Miami has had more recent success than the Jets. The Dolphins have had four consecutive above .500 regular seasons, the last two under head coach Mike McDaniel.
However, when it comes to postseason success or the lack thereof, the Dolphins are ahead. Miami currently has the longest playoff win drought in the NFL. The last time the Dolphins won a playoff game was in the 2000 season.
Since then, the Dolphins have lost all six playoff games in the last 24 years. Interestingly, the Jets, who currently hold the NFL’s longest active playoff drought at 13 seasons, have performed much better in the same period. playoff winNew York has a 6-6 record in the
over the past 24 years, including consecutive appearances in the AFC Championship game in the 2009 and 2010 seasons. playoffs Jets’ Interest in Barrett Is Extremely Revealing

According to Barrett, the Jets showed keen interest in him right from the beginning of free agency. Even though New York didn’t land the exceptional pass rusher, it shows that they are exploring the market.
The Jets have brought in numerous new players this off-season, but none in the pass rush category. New York lost defensive lineman

Jadeveon Clowney . The team had him visit their facilities this week. The Gang Green defense had an outstanding season, but the Jets don't appear content with maintaining the same lineup in 2024.
