OpenAI is preparing for meetings with the Hollywood studios, talent agencies, and media executives next week to promote the integration of Sora, Bloomberg reported this on Friday.
TheWrap found out that OpenAI had met with the talent agencies earlier this month. According to the Bloomberg report, “OpenAI arranged initial discussions in Hollywood led by Chief Operating Officer Brad Lightcap.
CEO Sam Altman made the rounds and attended events during Oscars week to start making progress.
According to OpenAI, Sora is an AI model that can generate realistic and imaginative scenes from text instructions. Currently, the technology creates lifelike animation about a minute long.
“OpenAI has a deliberate strategy of collaborating with the industry through a phased deployment of AI advances to ensure safe implementation and provide insight into upcoming developments,” an OpenAI spokesperson stated in a statement to Bloomberg. “We eagerly anticipate ongoing discussions with artists and creatives.”
As previously reported by The Wrap, Sora surprised the creative community upon its arrival, generating concerns that the technology will threaten traditional industry jobs. In fact, filmmaker Tyler Perry recently canceled his $800 million studio expansion, citing Sora’s remarkable capabilities as the cause.
