He mentioned this on Thursday while giving an oath to 3,195 newly enrolled students for the 2023/2024 academic year.
Bashir advised them not to get involved in cult activities and cheating during exams that could disrupt their studies.
He advised them to be diligent in their studies so that their parents and families would not be let down in the end.
He observed that the university is a place where future leaders are nurtured to make a positive impact in the world.
He said, “Follow the university's rules and regulations, and support its admirable ideals, principles, and values.
“This esteemed institution has long been a symbol of academic brilliance and a place where future leaders are nurtured. The university only grants degrees to deserving students who demonstrate good character and learning.
“Don't let yourselves, your parents, your families, your state, your country, and humanity down. Let the university's nurturing spirit flow through you so that, ultimately, you will become a liberated individual.”
