The Edmonton Oilers have agreed to a three-year entry level contract with forward James Stefan on Thursday.
Stefan, who is six feet tall and weighs 185 pounds, achieved his highest career goals (48), assists (51), and points this season while playing for the Western Hockey League’s Portland Winterhawks. He is currently ranked fifth in the WHL for goals and ninth for points.
Stefan, who was not selected in the draft, has participated in 251 games with Portland. During this time, he has scored 109 goals and provided 145 assists, resulting in 254 points.
