New York Attorney General Letitia James has filed paperwork to start taking Trump’s property.
ABC News reported:
New York Attorney General Letitia James has started the process to potentially take over former President Donald Trump’s property in New York’s Westchester County after a $464 million judgment in Trump’s civil fraud trial.
Officials have recorded the judgment from Trump’s trial in Manhattan with the county clerk’s office in Westchester, which would allow James to take control of Trump National Golf Course in Briarcliff Manor and Seven Springs, a private estate in Bedford, if Trump doesn’t obtain a bond.
Trump had a breakdown on his social media platform. He clearly stated that he couldn’t afford to pay the $464 million fraud bond.
The former president may have several of his properties taken by the state of New York. Trump lacks the money to obtain the bond. His presidential campaign is also struggling to raise funds to the extent that the candidate has been too financially strapped to campaign.
The deadline for the former president to get the bond needed to appeal the fraud judgment is Monday, and currently, no conservative billionaires have offered to help, while thirty different bonding companies have rejected him due to insufficient cash assets.
Even if Trump gets the bond and appeals the judgment, it will only postpone what seems inevitable. There is strong evidence of fraud, including extensive paperwork against Trump, his adult children, and the Trump Organization.
Donald Trump cannot obtain the bond or pay the judgment, so the state of New York is initiating steps to seize his property.
