Gunmen believed to be part of cults have fatally shot a man named Mr Bobby Kabah and his pregnant wife in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The event occurred during the ongoing fights between members of different cult groups in the area.
PUNCH Online mentions that the fights on Wednesday night caused confusion, panic, and sorrow in the community.
A source from the community, speaking anonymously, explained that the victim, Kabah, was relaxing at home with his pregnant wife in Agidiasei quarters when two gunmen entered his house at around 8.35 pm and shot them.
He stated, 'Bobby was at home with his woman because he is recovering from a leg injury due to a recent motorbike accident.'
He added, 'The gunmen came into his home from the rear, found him and his pregnant wife, and shot them, killing them instantly.'
The ongoing conflicts among cults in Ogwashi-Uku have resulted in six deaths in the last two weeks.
When approached, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the killings on Thursday.
He confirmed, 'Yes, it is true, they are not married but they were residing and killed in the same house.'
In February, tension gripped the people of Ogwashi-Uku, in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State following the killing of a prominent cult kingpin, simply identified as Lucky, by a rival cult group in the community.
