A Nigerian soldier named Egitanghan G wants to join any operation that seeks to retaliate for the deaths of military personnel who were killed in Delta State last week during a peacekeeping mission.
The soldier, who says he is from Delta State, is angry about the disrespectful comments made about the deceased soldiers.
He shared his own experience fighting for his country and emphasized the sacrifices soldiers make to protect their homeland.
In a video posted on his TikTok account on Wednesday, he said in pidgin English, “This message is for my Niger Delta brothers.
“When I read the comments about the things that were said about our soldiers who died in Delta State, it makes me cry because I am a Delta boy.
“I know the challenges I have faced in this country. I have spent four years fighting in Maiduguri. I know how many Maiduguri soldiers from Maiduguri have died for their state to protect their land. I know how many Katsina people from Katsina have died for Katsina.
“But you have the audacity to kill our soldiers in Delta State and all the South South people are making disrespectful comments. They say whether the soldiers who died in the North are being put online?
“We cannot forgive anyone who kills frontline soldiers. We must retaliate for their deaths. Even as a Qarri boy, I pray to be part of the operation.
“Do not forget that those who live in glass houses do not throw stones, right? If one hand touches the oil, it will affect the other hand. As you have priced, you must collect.
“You forget that these soldiers have wives, families, and mothers who pray for them as they protect the country.
“We do good things to the good people and bad things to the bad people.”
PUNCH reports that a Nigerian Army commander, three officers, and 12 soldiers were killed in Delta State last Thursday.
