ABC has commissioned the drama 'Dr. Odyssey' starring Joshua Jackson. The show is produced by 20th Television in collaboration with Ryan Murphy Television.
Jackson will take on the main role and produce the project. He recently starred in 'Dr. Death' and 'Fatal Attraction,' and is also set to star in the movie 'Karate Kid' from Sony Pictures. The details of the series are not disclosed, but it is expected to debut in the fall.
The series will be written and executive produced by Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz, and Joe Baken. Additionally, Paris Barclay will direct and executive produce, and Eric Paquette, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, and Nissa Diederich will be the executive producers.
'Dr. Odyssey' will be the second show by Ryan Murphy to be featured on ABC. '9-1-1' was picked up by ABC after being canceled at Fox. It premiered recently on the network. The first episode of Season 7 garnered 8.85 million viewers across ABC, Hulu, and other digital platforms, along with a 1.84 rating in the key broadcast demo among adults 18-49. Despite '9-1-1' moving to ABC, its spin-off, '9-1-1: Lone Star,' is still on Fox and is planning to return for Season 5 in the fall. More details are expected in the future.
The drama is set to premiere in the fall.
